4-H Robotics

Robotics is an area of 4-H program growth right now.  Nationally, 4-H has launched  a new curriculum that has three phases - junk drawer robotics, virtual robotics and nxt platform robotics. National 4-H has a formal partnership with FIRST Robotics, which has helped build new partnering relationships within NYS.  FIRST teams exhibit in the 4-H Youth Building at the New York State Fair.

Youth of all ages love the challenge of robotics. The NYS 4-H Foundation funded the purchase of LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits and workshops to kick start 4-H Robotics in New York. A new Smith-Lever grant is supporting an extension of those efforts by providing additional materials to borrow and workshops. For more information contact your local Cornell Cooperative Extension office or nschaff@cornell.edu.
