What is Collegiate 4-H?   Cornell Collegiate 4-H   Getting Involved

Collegiate 4-H for All!

Collegiate 4-H is an organization that provides its members with a sense of identity on campus, enriches their lives through group projects and recreation, and develops confidence and leadership skills. Clubs provide service and support to their local and state 4-H programs, such as serving as judges and conducting training workshops. They are also a service and social group for campus students (National Collegiate 4-H website).

Cornell Collegiate 4-H is a part of the National Collegiate  4-H Organization and members have the opportunity to attend regional and national meetings.

Collegiate 4-H is:

  • open to all students (no 4-H experience required)
  • an ambassador group for Cornell Cooperative Extension
  • a service, project based organization
  • a great opportunity to share and build leadership skills
  • a great way to start or extend a 4-H career

Cornell Collegiate 4-H

For several years now, Cornell Collegiate 4-H has done community clean up as part of the Adopt-a-Highway program and hopes to continue this service for years to come. Members routinely assist with local Tompkins County 4-H programs such as quiz bowls and important fundraisers, as well as State events, such as evaluating public presentations. Members attend Northeast and National Collegiate   4-H Conferences to gain insight and build their leadership skills and of course, to see the world and have fun.

How to Get Involved
The organization has big plans for the year to come, both in continuing current projects and extending their reach within the Cornell campus, Ithaca community and connecting with other Collegiate 4-H programs. All are encouraged to attend meetings and share their creative ideas regarding outreach and service.
