The New York State 4-H Club Leader Handbook emphasizes practical application of the youth development principles that are the foundation of the 4-H program. It is a "how to" book intended for use as both a leader training guide and reference manual.

The New York State 4-H Cloverbud Leader Handbook is intended for use with, and by, 4-H leaders working with 5 to 8 year-olds. It focuses on the club structure, methods and types of activities that are most appropriate for meeting the developmental needs of this age group. It can stand alone or be combined with the Club Leader Handbook.

Risk Management.  While working with youth, concerns about avoiding risk are ever present.  Although the local staff will advise leaders about risk management policies, the 4-H Risk Management Policies and Guidelines may be of interest.
